We realize we are caretakers of a beautiful little section of our planet. It's our goal to practice sustainable development so that the next generations of Hondurans and visitors to our island can continue to enjoy this unique and special place. It is our goal to reduce as close to zero as possible the environmental impact of the resort by the year 2015. In 2010, for example, we will be be taking a close look at our waste disposal process in order to find a solution that is more friendly to our environment. Every year, during the holidays, we hold our Toy Party for the kids in the local community. The kids play fun games and compete for the most sought-after toys. In the end, however, we make sure that everyone gets something. In many cases, this is the extent of holidays gifts these kids receive. Some of our guests bring toys to add to our collection for the party. Others have brought school supplies for the local kids. Reaching out has its own reward: a boost of good energy that comes from extending kindness to others.
