Flights and Driving Directions

It is surprisingly easy to fly into Roatan's International Airport (airport code RTB). U.S., Central American, and various international scheduled and charter air carriers offer non-stop flights to the island from the USA, Canada, Europe, and Central America (daily, in some cases). Nearby, on the Honduran mainland, multiple international airlines offer daily service to San Pedro Sula (SAP), the country's second largest city. From San Pedro's regional hub airport, quick local airline flights are available to the island. For more information on flights, see Getting Here in the Rates and Reservations section.

Driving From the Airport

As you exit the airport area, turn right unto the main island road heading east toward French Harbour and Oak Ridge (should you ask for directions, say you "want to go to the East End of the island"). Travel approximately 25 KM, through French Harbour, until you see and pass the Oak Ridge exit. Shortly after the Oak Ridge turnoff (+/- 500 meters), you'll turn right unto the unpaved East End road. Paya Bay Resort's entrance will be on your left 6 KM after this turn.

Roatan-based Ramirez Rent a Car offers the opportunity to explore the island with convenient car rental options for all budgets. Their rental office is located in the airport zone.
