NATURISM - FEELING VERY CLOSE TO NATURE
Definition: "Naturism is a way of life in harmony with nature characterized by the practice of social nudity, with the aim of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment." (International Naturist Federation)
Harmony With Nature and Freedom
One feels very close to nature after discarding clothes and feeling the warm sunshine, fresh air or cool water on the whole of the body. Being naked outdoors gives a great sense of freedom.
Self-Respsect and Respect for Others
The greatest mental health benefits of being a naturist come from having respect and liking for ones own body and respecting other people in all their various forms.
Relaxation
The naturist's comfort with nakedness shows an attitude of comfort with oneself as you are in your most basic form without decoration or deceit. All one has is one's true self. That is incredibly relaxing. It has been said that a day of naturism is more relaxing and beneficial than a whole week of the same activities with clothes on. When asked what the benefits of naturism are, the most common reply of many naturists is the incredible feeling of relaxation. It seems like when you shed your clothes you shed many of your cares. You give up most of the pretense you project to 'defend' yourself in the clothed world and come back to the real human beings we are.
